There are few places one can travel and experience magnificent designs by a world-renowned architect. The Laurel Highlands proudly showcases three of Frank Lloyd Wright's impressive works amidst our natural landscape.
A Lesson in Architecture
Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater®
In 1935 a prominent retail family, the Kauffmanns of Pittsburgh, commissioned Frank Lloyd Wright to design their seasonal retreat. Their request was to build the home into a mountain setting with a view of the waterfall.
Frank Lloyd Wright's Kentuck Knob
The House on Kentuck Knob was completed in 1956 for friends of the Kauffmanns, the Hagan family, owners of a local dairy farm. Impressed by Wright's Fallingwater®, they enlisted his genius to design a home onto their land on the mountain.
