Venice is one of my favorite Italian cities and a rival to Paris as a place for romance. Built on over 100 small islands in a marshy area of the Adriatic sea. With the city's endless narrow canals and small square within the city, Venice can become a bit of a maze to the uninitiated – but I can’t think of a better place to get lost! My expectations for Puerto Rico were initially quite low, but someone suggested I do a road trip around the island rather than stick to the east side like most tourists do. So that’s what we did. We drove all around the North and West coasts and even drove through part of the South coast before looping back to the Eastern part of the country. I witnessed local Puerto Rico at its finest…and I wouldn’t have it any other way. For those of you that are interested in seeing what Puerto Rico has to offer outside San Juan and the beach (I did those as well), read on. This is Puerto Rico, off the beaten path.

If you are looking for a comfort day, then San Sal is the perfect place to treat yourself. It was nice to be in a little comfort zone for a few days while checking out all the city has to offer. In between old churches, museums, and galleries we made sure to treat ourselves (a very rare occurrence) with a trip to the mall, a movie, some popcorn, a large soda and an ice-cream or two. And it was awesome!
The capital of Kyrgyzstan itself didn’t seem to have a lot going on, with the main attractions being the superb mountains surrounding the city. There was the mandatory National Museum, a few monuments, a leafy park here and there and a good restaurant scene. Perhaps you could even call Bishkek sleepy. This suited us just fine.
With its typical Federal Style, perfectly maintained streets and squares and omnipresent tranquility, Washington D.C. just breathes patriotism. Even a simple walk through the streets of the Mall is impressive. Highlights are the Capitol, the Library of Congress, the many memorials around and close to Tidal Basin and the museums of the Smithsonian Institution. Almost all museums and sights are free of entrance, so you can easily spend a couple of days here without spending a dollar on entrance fees.

When you are strategically based, it’s possible to see quite a bit of San Diego in only a weekend. That’s exactly what a friend of mine from up north and I did recently on a long overdue girls’ trip. My goal was to allow for loads of conversation, a jaunt into my scenic neighborhood, a little bit of sightseeing as well as plenty of food and wine along the way. I’m sharing what we did below with you as an example of things to do in San Diego when you have a few days to spare!

All together I spent 3 months in the country and was lucky enough to travel the length and breadth of it, getting a good taste of all its different landscapes. But it is possible for you to visit your choice of Morocco’s highlights quite easily in a short period of time, if you choose the places you want to see most and plan your trip wisely.
Dubrovnik is beautiful. That’s evident from the moment you step over the drawbridge across the (now dry) moat and through the Pile gate watched over by a benevolent Saint Blaise, onto the gleaming promenade: the Stradun. It’s 16th-century limestone paving worn so smooth, it could be mistaken for marble. So should you go?
We were invited to attend a wedding in Dingle, Southern Ireland (Republic of Ireland) and jumped at the opportunity to make life long memories. A country filled with history, beautiful landscapes, amazing people and enough pubs to quench any thirst, Southern Ireland is definitely on our “To Do List” (Again!) NYC is after all the city that never sleeps and has so much to offer!
Niagara Falls aren’t the largest waterfalls but have the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world. The flow is so great that well before you can visualize the falls, you may see its mist rising into the skies. Although the falls aren’t very high (less than 190 feet high), they are very wide (over 3000 ft.) and walkways are built to stroll along and visualize their whole length from across the river. This is a great place to marvel at nature that both you and your kids will love.

Forget the big tours. Here's what to do in Iceland if you're looking for a more authentic experience. For a long time, a woman's place was in the home; she kept busy taking care of the family. Oftentimes, it meant long hours at the spinning wheel. But, at the turn of the 20th century, a different kind of wheel got her attention. The automobile set women on the road toward greater freedom and work opportunities. Some little known facts about Women at the Wheel: In 1916, the Girl Scouts started their 'Automobiling Badge' for girls who could demonstrate their driving skill, basic auto mechanics, and first-aid skills. Henry Ford began hiring widows and single women in 1922 to work in his automobile factory 'so they could dress attractively and get married'. In 1955, Dodge introduced the La Femme - a pink, two-door coupe for women, featuring a matching pink calf-skin purse! The beloved Ford Mustang was created not as a muscle car, but to reach the female market. Who knew? In 1984, out with the station wagon, in with the mini-van by Chrysler. The term 'soccer mom' was coined as mothers had a roomy vehicle with easy access to haul kids, sports equipment, and groceries.

Here’s just a sampling of the best routes (long and short) that their wild wondrous region has to offer.
